Please consider giving today. Any amount you can spare will make a difference. Your gift is combined with the gifts of others to magnify the power of these contributions. And if you don't believe a few dollars here and there helps, you'll be pleasantly surprised to learn otherwise.
Here's another example of small donations combining to make a big difference. Mercer Area School District elementary students worked all through the month of November 2011 to create and decorate gingerbread men, in order to raise money for United Way of Mercer County. For each twenty-five cent donation, the students posted a gingerbread man in the main hallway of their facility. Four thousand gingerbread men adorned the school's main hallway over the 2011 holidays.
On December 22, these wonderful kids presented UWMC with over $1,000 (including lots of quarters!). UWMC Executive Director Jim Micsky extends his sincere thanks to Mercer Area Schools Superintendent, Dr. William Gathers; Mercer Elementary School Principal Michelle Dietrich; their staff and faculty; and especially to their amazing students, who prove that you're never too young to help your neighbors in need.
